Salvaged Style from Apartment Therapy

I do like the sofa and chairs. More for it's structure than it's comfort. If I had this, it wouldn't be my main seating area. I love looking at the newspapered wall, though I doubt I would replicate this in my place as it will look cramped.

I took the house tour. And this house is calling out to me. I love the nostalgia it exudes. Sparsely furnished in some areas (as I like it). And with lovely touches of salvaged trinkets here and there.

Crapper

I have spied these low level cisterns in Jamie's Italian at Canary Wharf. And though toilets are never really a topic of choice, I quickly told the husband to go check the loo as I was quite impressed with these Crapper toilets.

Mixing Modern and Primitive Design

Just don't ask me what is primitive about this home. All I know is it has a lot of elements I love.

To have ceilings like that, what would you not give? Have a look at the rest of the house tour. I am not sure of the high backed chairs though, but that lounge area is absolutely cosy.

Lovely guest house from The Little Cottage. And you can book a getaway there too!

My Colours

I love whites and grays and neutrals.

My base colour is alwasy white. Because it's fresh. And you add these wonderful colours on top and it will always be summer.

Can you drop me an email if you have any idea where this picture is from?

Floor art anyone?

Though this particular design doesn't exactly appeal to me, I think it's a great idea. I would love a design that would look better with a few scratches. After all, I wouldn't like floors I would be afraid to step on.

Shelving

I remember having walls like these. But most of the time you have thin layer of wood on top of it. It never occured to me that you can strip it out and just leave it exposed to be used as rather thin shelves. Something to keep in mind!

Raw

There is something about the rawness of this room that speaks to me. The concrete walls are very industrial, but it still looks so warm.

A Library Lounge

Oh, to live surrounded by books - heaven! Yes, I am a book hoarder. Though my collection is by no means large. I still have books at my parents' home several continents away. I will bring them back here as soon as I found the place. But, I will dream on for just a bit longer...

I love barn doors

Only trouble I had with this is how do you keep the noise and moisture in? Surely there must be a gap between the wall and the barn door as they're not a perfect match. and does it lock?

..and no, I don't think I can use books to prop up vases.

Images like this makes me feel like I'm home. Cosy and comfortable, someplace where you're forgiven for not putting away things right away or not having to make the bed. And yes, I love toiles!

Made of money

I have a bottle-full of 1 and 2-pence coins sitting in the cupboards. I try to use them as much as I can (there are a lot of ?.99 priced items out there).

But here's an idea if you have more than just a bottle-full

Pottery Barn Vintage?

No, these are not vintage pieces, but I can't help looking at them...and wanting to dive into bed with all those scrumptious blankets as my flu lingers on with headaches and a really sore throat. boo!

actually, I think I will dive into bed after this post. But minus the scrumptious blankets :(

I frequent Desire to Inspire. You'll never want of inspiration there. And I found this...

When I was a little girl, I dream of a garden like this - right in the middle, with the whole house embracing it. Still have no idea how practical something like this would be.

Also found this.

If I ever have a sitting room big enough, I'd throw this in the corner. Because wouldn't it be nice to sit here talking to friends over a cup of tea? Much more cosy than a coffee table.

Button backed tub?

I am sitting at home with the flu. And my achy bones are longing for a long soak in the bathtub. But would you soak in this?

Ok, it's a decadent room. And many would kill for that kind of space in the bathroom. Well, at least you would not get a concussion should you slip on the marble floors and bang your head on the side of the tub.

But, really, I am a simple girl at heart. This would do.
